It was mid-afternoon on Sunday and we dropped into the Cinque Port Arms in Rye for a bite to eat and a glass of wine. It was quiet and our choice of snack was unavailable so I asked if they could just knock us up some scampi to dip - it was awesomely nice and served with a smile - excellent!

A proper pub. It's a must when in town and you want a drink. It's a locals pub and all the better for it. Good food, drink selection and great ( very well priced coffees ) Plenty of room inside, there is also a nice terrace at the back looking towards the station and country beyond . At the front are a couple of tables perfect to watch the world walk by.

Review us on TripAdvisorMy sister and law had lunch herej, and found the landlord very friendly and helpful. The food was nicely cooked, VERY hot, and served very quickly. The goats cheese with walnuts on a bed of salad was delicious, and the cheesy chips and garlic bread rounded it off, plus the wine. I thought it a reasonable price for what was a tasty lunch. I would go there again.
